The day after Kaveri Theerthodbava is the auspicious day for the people of Kodagu which is called Kanni Pooja or Kani poojo.
The people use various items like papaya, banana male flower, cucumber, coconut or Goddess Kaveri Photo & decorate with red or white cloth, make hands & legs also. It's then decorated with Gold jewels & Bangles, then kept on a copper plate or Thalia with rice, beetel leaf, nuts & small Dosas, coconut and banana alongside.
Then this is kept on a palamboo or mat on a stool or mukkali in front of Nellaki (prayer place).
And a lamp is lit is front or it.
In some places it's kept for 1 day & some for 3 days. In some places the pumpkin curry, jaggery, extra fruits are also kept.
In simple words for general people to understand ritual is more like Ganesha visharjan at the end.
